Description
Hottentot fig, is a fast-growing, and highly resilient succulent. The plant produces fruits that are edible when ripe, often described as having a salty-sour, fig-like, or strawberry-like taste. The juice from the leaves is used traditionally for its antiseptic and soothing qualities, providing relief for sore throats, mouth infections, sunburns, eczema, and even insect bites.
